This knife features a Kurouchi finish on stainless cladding, a rare and complex development in modern metallurgy. This unique approach combines the intricate traditional Japanese forging techniques with modern stainless steel, resulting in a blade that maintains the rustic aesthetic of a Kurouchi knife without the maintenance hassles associated with high-carbon steel. The Nashiji Kurouchi Stainless Clad Series is thinner than our standard Kurouchi stainless clad options, offering enhanced laser performance and ease of sharpening.

The term Kurouchi, meaning "Black-Forged," describes the knife's distinctive unpolished rustic finish. Our knives are clad in two layers of full Kurouchi stainless steel, ensuring durability and protection without sacrificing sharpness. With a hardness rating of 62-63 on the Rockwell scale, the inner core of White Steel #2 is renowned for its exceptional edge retention, allowing it to maintain a sharp edge over extended use. The Kurouchi Stainless Cladding is more forgiving when exposed to moisture, ensuring that the superior sharpness remains intact.

Each knife is complemented by a handcrafted Octagonal Rosewood handle, designed for comfort for both left and right-handed users.
