#10000 Grit - Size: 8"x2.85"x0.9" (without base) - Includes Nagura Stone

The Yoshihiro Toishi Whetstones are significantly larger than standard Japanese whetstones, enabling more even sharpening. With a width of 3 inches, this stone provides ample surface area for accurately sharpening longer blades, and at a height of 1 inch, it contains enough material to ensure years of dependable use. Weighing over 2 pounds, the sturdy wooden base attached to the bottom enhances stability, making the stone less prone to slipping during sharpening and ensuring a safer experience.

Renowned for their exceptional quality, Yoshihiro whetstones encapsulate superior sharpening particles that unveil the finest edge of any blade.

Knife sharpening is a vital component of knife care. Japanese knives should always be sharpened and honed on premium quality Japanese water stones. A high-quality Japanese water stone provides not only the ideal surface for sharpening and maintaining your knife's blade but also preserves the integrity of the high-quality steel from which the knife is made.

The finest knives demand special care and consideration. Each Yoshihiro Cutlery knife is forged with meticulous attention by master craftsmen, who heat and quench the steel through many labor-intensive steps. The result is a steel that balances optimal hardness with enough elasticity for structural integrity. The Yoshihiro Toishi Whetstones are particularly designed to enhance sharpening precision. The broad surface and substantial height contribute to a reliable and effective sharpening experience, ensuring your blades remain in top condition.

Nagura Stone
The Nagura stone is a small conditioning stone that complements a Japanese whetstone. It is used to create a slurry on the whetstone, which enhances the sharpening process by effectively clearing away metal particles and gently flattening the whetstone during use. (From #3000 grit and above)
