With a hardness on the Rockwell scale of 63-64, the inner core of High Speed Powdered Steel is prized for its high edge retention with a stainless steel exterior that is non corrosive and requires low maintenance. High Speed Steel is forged at very high temperatures to create a steel that is durable enough to be used in industrial machinery and power tools, when powdered steel is used in the High Speed Steel forging process it creates an extremely hard steel with high edge retention.
